Lets Have Tea

2 min read
I like to think that I have a slight unique art style. I really love mixing the cute with the creepy or eerie and seeing what I can get. I fine example is a shoot I did last year, "Let's have Tea", greatly influenced by the story Alice in Wonderland and the modern, contemporary sub-culture it has attracted. This shoot took about a month to plan (but was in my head way before that) and couldn't have been completed without all the amazing family and friends that helped me out.

Special thanks to Nicky for doing an amazing job on the make-up, my amazing models Ben, Katie, Nikita, Steph (thank you also for doing the model's hair, check out Steph's amazing work on: www.facebook.com/#!/StephLaure…) and Phil. Ash for not only helping me set up but also allowing me to borrow your car to put my many, many props in it. To my Auntie Jenny for letting me borrow her back yard for the shoot and of course my amazing and always supporting mum who spent countless hours and money to help me find props, get frames, getting up early and making everyone lunch and always supporting my crazy ideas. Thank you everyone, I know you all went out of your way to help me and this wouldn't have turned out without all your support and encouragement (especially when I had doubts if this was ever going to work out).

Forever Young

2 min read
OMG OMG (yes I know it's really professional to start a sentence with OMG, but this is really exciting news).

The 'Forever Young' art exhibit at Pine Rivers Art Gallery is finally OPEN!!!  YAY!!!  Okay, maybe I should back it up, I can sense the confusion on some of you guys' faces all the way from here, and so let me explain.

The exhibit started at the 30th of November 2011 and ends at the 21st of January 2012, with the bubbly opening night on the 2nd of November, which I unfortunately missed because I was on vacation (yes their were tears on how upset I was), but what I heard from my inside sources it was a amazing night.

The exhibit consists of 16 young local artists (me being extremely blessed to be one) with Transit Lounge Caboolture (a awesome non for profit organisation that works with young people and the arts) and consisted of the theme growing up or the transaction between childhood and adulthood, which most of us know from experience is a pretty wild and crazy journey in it's self.

When I eventually got to go to the exhibit, I was amazed with the amount of talent that is present, it just proves that it doesn't matter what age you are you are capable to do anything.

I strongly recommend that if you can, take a sticky peak at the exhibit, there are some really amazingly talented people there.

Hi to all

I know, I know I have been a very lazy artist lately and neglected my DA account, but for my defence I've been realllly busy.
But now that the holidays are coming closer I hope to be able to catch up with the love of my life that is art.

This is what I have been up to:

I've FINALLY finished editing my comissioned photography work I did for the Pine Rivers Youth Arts Award and hopefully it will be sent off soon.  OMG that took ages and ages, I see why photographers charge alot.

What else....
I finally finished my last art assigment, OMG it was time consuming, I don't care what anyone say or how simple it looks it was TIME CONSUMING.  The piece consists of 60 photographs commonly consisting of people wearing white masks with twelve images having illustrations manipulated into them.  I'm gonna have to post some soon.

My very good friends Marie mazcake.deviantart.com/ and Laura www.lauratuton.com/ were very helpful in allowing me take part in a photoshoot, I learnt sooo much on that day, it was amazing.  Seriously, I even got to take a couple of photos and use the big light flashy thinging (yes I know all the descriptive names).  I learnt soo much and got to meet some awesome people in the process.
Here are the links to some of the photos I took:

Some time I think last month I went to the Beat the Streets festival, it was amazing.  The idea of the concert was help make people aware and help fund to get homeless youths off the streets.  It's a really worthy cause that doesn't get enough attention.

It was an amazing concert I got to see bands such as New Empire and Burning Brooklyn perform.  I loved the Burning Brooklyn band they were awesome, unfortunately my camera batteries died so I only took photos of one band.

What else, my lovely friend introduced me to the song "The Crow and the Butterfly" by Shinetown and showed my the music video for it.  IT IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!  I LOVE IT!!!  Heres the link:www.youtube.com/watch?v=1B89Os…

Also last Satuday was my last life drawing class for the year, I'm soooo upset.  can't wait till it starts up again.

Well that's it for now.  I'm really excited to spend some quality time with my one and only love of my life (um guys I'm talking about art, so don't get too excited, lol).  I really want to do some more photoshoots, practise digital art and illustration and hopefully even finish setting up a website (besides my loyal DA account).  Wheather any of this gets done is a completely different story though, lol.

Anyway, stay tune everyone.

Sincerly ME
xoxoxo
